The goal of Project Two-Five is to empower people through the grace of God to
live their lives with boldness, confidence and dignity.

To achieve this goal, we train young adults at four vocational schools in Uganda and South Sudan, among other initiatives.
Project Two-Five is a Christian, non-profit organization with staff from different nations. We opened our first training school in South Sudan, but due to the civil war we had to leave the country and fled with our students to Uganda. Now we are working there at different locations, for example in a refugee camp. We offer long-term solutions in our projects through education and training.
Project Two-Five began with a vision. A vision of an organization that helps build self-sufficient communities in Africa. The visionary and founder is Mac John Njidda. He led several outreach teams to South Sudan in his work with Youth with a Mission and that was when he saw the need, not only for the Gospel, but also for a holistic ministry of meeting people in their poverty. In 2013, during his time in the U.S., the vision slowly became a project.
Mac John traveled to Yei, South Sudan, to open the first tailoring school. There was just enough money to rent a room and hire a teacher, but no funds for sewing machines. The first class had 40 students eager to learn how to tailor. The first two weeks were spent learning to sew by hand and cut fabric, but then came the news from Germany - a sewing machine had been donated! - and two days later another one. After arriving in Uganda to buy the machines, the news came that another seven sewing machines had been donated and then another twelve. So, Mac John returned to Yei with 21 machines. The students were divided into morning and afternoon classes, so each student had a sewing machine to learn on.
The civil war that has been raging in the youngest country on earth since December 2013 reached Yei in 2016. Like our students and teachers, we had to flee about 100 km southwest to Rhino Camp in Uganda. With more than 120,000 registered refugees it has the population of a small city. The conflict in South Sudan has led to Africa's biggest refugee crisis. 2.5 million people have fled to neighboring Uganda, Kenya, Sudan and Ethiopia. Almost 90% of the refugees are women and children.
We now had to start from scratch since we could not bring anything from South Sudan. We started to rebuild the vocational school for refugees in Rhino Camp in order to give hope and perspective for the future through education there as well. In the same year, another training school was built in Serere, another part of Uganda, and later another training school and other projects in Arua, the town near Rhino Camp.
